Flavours of the North-West

Galician cuisine is characterized by the richness and variety of its products. In fact, these characteristics are due to the quality of its meat, its home-grown typical products, fish and seafood. These foods are fundamental of the Galician diet, and are protected by the Regulatory Boards of the Protected Designations of Origin. These products are distinguished by the high quality due to its homemade production.

The itinerary "Flavours of the North-West" is based on the typical Galician cuisine, which is characterized by its taste, variety and healthy ingredients. The itinerary is focused on a geographical area made up of the following municipalities: Abegondo, Bergondo, Betanzos, Oza dos Ríos, Paderne, Coirós, Miño, Vilarmaior, Irixoa, Aranga, Curtis, Monfero, Guitiriz, As Pontes de García Rodríguez, Xermade and Vilalba.

These municipalities offer the Galician cuisine best quality products, such as the dairy products as San Simon da Costa cheese or Tetilla cheese, meat represented by the poultry from Vilalba or Galician honey.
